Review | Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser [AD]

Another new launch! The Dear Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser is being launched on the Wishtrend website on Monday 31st May 2021! They’ve been coming out with a lot of new exciting skincare recently, this time it’s a product by the brand Dear Klairs, and it’s one I am pretty excited about. The Dear Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser was kindly gifted to me in exchange for an honest review so in today’s post I’ll be sharing my thoughts on it so far.

Product Description

This low pH facial cleanser gently removes all impurities with a hydrating finish. With its creamy dense texture, it is soft and mild on the skin without causing irritation. A foam cleanser from Klairs Gentle Black Line, it consists of Black Complex – Tuber Melanosporum Extract (Truffle), Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Nigella Sativa Seed Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract to enhance hydration and healthiness of the skin.

How to use: Dispense an appropriate amount of the cleanser onto wet palms. Lather the foam by rubbing in circular motions then thoroughly cleanse your face. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Quantity & Packaging

The cleanser is 140ml and comes in a long cream-coloured squeeze tube with a black flip-top lid and black writing. I like the clean minimal aesthetic of it. The box that it comes in is quite cute as well as it has the same simple colouring with the cleanser tube drawn on it.

Scent

No artificial fragrance and no detectable scent.

Appearance & Texture

Thick white cream cleanser with a smooth creamy texture that turns into a soft fluffy foam when lathered with water.

My Experience

In the past I’ve mentioned several times on my blog that I love the feeling of a cream-type foam cleanser but they can sometimes strip your skin of its natural oils, well this beauty by Klairs seems to be the answer to my cleansing woes; I get that luxuriously soft creamy foam feel without the harshness at the end as the Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser does indeed make my combination skin feel effectively clean while being gentle and doesn’t feel dry and tight straight after washing.

The name sounds familiar right? well, that’s because of the oh-so-popular Dear Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil and the Dear Klairs Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil, which are part of the same line. You can get a pretty solid gentle yet effective cleansing routine if you choose one of those oil cleansers for your first cleanse and then follow up with the Dear Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser for your second cleanse. And if oil cleansers aren’t suitable for you then you can go straight in with this one.

Update June 2022: I’ve finished the product and my opinion of it has stayed the same regarding how it cleanses my skin. I would prefer it to be a touch creamier though so that I can create a more luxe-feeling dense foam, but that’s just a minor point that has nothing to do with the cleanser’s efficacy.
