Review | Troiareuke Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing [AD]

In today’s post, I will be sharing my thoughts on the Troiareuke Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing kindly sent to me by Beauty & Seoul in exchange for an honest review. I’ll first share some general information about the cleanser and then talk about how it was for my combination/ acne-prone skin.

Troiareuke Cleanser

Description

The Troiareuke Oil Cut Cleanser is a clear, gel cleanser and works as an oil and water cleanser in one – but without oil! The formula is created using a micro-emulsion technique to ensure a gentle cleanse and effectively removes all impurities and excess sebum from the skin.

The multitasking cleanser contains a natural surfactant that doesn’t strip or irritate skin making it a great option for those with sensitive skin types. Papaya extract lightly exfoliates skin as well whist aloe helps soothe. Suitable for all skin types and is free of parabens, artificial colours, alcohol, mineral oil, essential oils, silicone and animal products.

How to use:
Gently massage onto dry skin and wash off with lukewarm water.

My Experience

I’ve been curious about Troiareuke products for many years now after some Youtuber’s said the Acsen line really helped with their acne-prone sensitive skin. I also contemplated visiting their clinic in Myeongdong for a facial but never got around to it. So I’m extremely grateful to Beauty & Seoul for giving me the opportunity to test out the Troiareuke Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing and see if it works as well on me as it has for many others.

At first, I wasn’t quite sure if I should use the Troiareuke Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing as a first step cleanser in place of an oil, or as a second step cleanser. After some research and trying it in both ways, I’ve come to the conclusion that it can be used in both ways. As a first step, it removes light makeup and sunscreen well. As a second step, it does a great job at thoroughly cleansing the skin, resulting in clear pores, smooth skin, and a bright and fresh-looking complexion.

Personally, on days when I don’t wear makeup or only wear very light makeup, I can get away with using this cleanser alone just once to wash my face effectively, however, on days when I do wear full makeup I use this same cleanser twice in the same routine, first as a superficial cleanse to remove makeup and sunscreen and then again as a deep cleanse to clear out excess sebum and impurities if needed.

The formula is quite unique as I noticed it doesn’t lather or foam up like gel or foam cleansers, but it has more of an invisible smooth slip to it that you work in all over your dry face then once water is added it emulsifies then washes away very easily without any soapy feeling. It’s interesting because it’s so light, gentle and invisible to the eye until it emulsifies, making me wonder if anything is even happening or if I’ve used enough product, however straight after washing it off the results amaze me so it’s safe to say a little goes a long way with this gentle yet powerful cleanser.

One of the other things I noticed is that my skin doesn’t feel tight and stripped of it’s natural oils straight after using this cleanser which gives me a little more time before the next steps in my routine. I did also notice that I don’t get as many recurring pimples when I use this which is probably because of how well it maintains my pores with daily use.

The only gripe I have is with the added artificial fragrance which it really could do without in my opinion, but it’s good that the scent doesn’t linger at all. For anyone who likes a light perfumed scent for a luxe sensorial pampering session it won’t be an issue at all.

If you’re looking for a gentle yet thorough cleanser that can cut down the steps in your cleansing routine and keep acne at bay, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy using the Troiareuke Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing.
