Review | By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream [AD]

In today’s post I will be sharing my review of the By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream that was kindly gifted to me by Wishtrend in exchange for an honest review. I’ll first share some general information about the cream and then talk about how it was for my skin. Retinal + Bakuchiol

Improves wrinkles and prevents other signs of aging without irritation. This is an A-mazing vitamin A cream for well-aging beginners. It is a hypoallergenic & treatment night cream that applies thickly and sticks to your face while sleeping. During sleep, your skin’s blood flow increases and the organ rebuilds collagen and repairs damage from UV Exposure, reducing wrinkles and age spots and enhances the repairing process of the skin. Formulated with two ingredients effective for well-aging (retinal & bakuchiol), this cream is the perfect overnight moisturizer to improve wrinkles, and prevent other signs of aging. This moisturizing cream improves skin texture, elasticity as well. An airless pump container is used to keep vitamin A stable for a long time, which easily deteriorates when exposed to air.

*Please note that this product cannot be applied with high-content vitamin c products or any exfoliants. Recommended for night use, when applied during daytime please use SPF after this step.

How to use:
Apply 1 or 2 pumps of the Vitamin A-mazing Night Cream after the serum step. Check your skin’s reaction to the product by using a small amount. Increase the amount little by little to find the appropriate amount for your skin. 1 pump per use is recommended. Be careful not to exceed 2 pumps.

If you have sensitive skin or if you are new to vitamin A products, we recommend adjusting the amount or frequency. (ex. Depending on your skin condition, use it twice a week for 2 weeks → then use it 3 times a week for 2 weeks, etc.)

Quantity & Packaging

The By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream has 30g of product that comes in a violet coloured opaque hard plastic bottle with an airless pump, and bright neon yellow lid and writing. The opaque hard plastic makes it difficult to assess how much is left in the bottle, however the airless pump mechanism allows you to get every last bit of product hygienically without having to cut it open towards the end, and it also allows the product to stay stable for longer.

Scent

There is no artificial fragrance.

Appearance & Texture

A thick neon yellow cream that feels smooth and nourishing, and leaves a slight yellow tint on the skin until fully worked in and absorbed, after which no tint is detected.

My Experience

I expected my skin to tolerate the By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream right off that bat as Bakuchiol is supposedly a milder alternative to Retinol, and this formulation is meant to be less potent than other Vitamin A products I’ve used as it contains Bakuchiol and a very small percentage of Retinal rather than Retinol. However right after applying this for the first time, thinner areas of my face such as my forehead and corners of my nose started to feel a little itchy, and the next morning I woke up with a few whiteheads on my cheeks and forehead.

Experiencing a few whiteheads isn’t always a problem as it could just be the product purging impurities that were already almost ready to surface, however I prefer not to go through the purging process and allow my skin to achieve results in a slow and very gentle way instead.

Was this purging or was the thickness of the cream too heavy for me? I’m not ready to experiment and find out just yet, so I’ve decided to not use it on my face for now and will try again another time when I’m feeling brave enough to go through the rough stage before reaping benefits.

I know there’s tons of research proving the benefits and I’m the ideal candidate for this type of product as I have dark post inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks from pimples, areas of flaky skin, as well as brow furrow and laughter liner that can really improve with the faster cell turnover, gradual skin resurfacing and plumping that Vitamin A provides.

I will try again on my face one day and report back, but for now after that first try, I have been happily using the By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream over a scar on my elbow as well as on stretch marks on my lower belly and have not experience any irritation to these areas. I use it on these areas every other night comfortably and find that it feels very nourishing and has helped to smooth the texture of my skin in these areas.
