Review | Innisfree Hyaluron Moist Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++

In today’s post, I’ll be sharing my review of the Innisfree Hyaluron Moist Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++.

I heard skincare Youtuber Soo Beauty talk highly about this sunscreen in one of her videos and was curious to try it so I asked my sister to get it for me last year when she was coming to the UK for a holiday. My views ended up differing slightly from Soo’s for one particular reason so please read on to find out.

I briefly mentioned this sunscreen in a recent sunscreen collection post and today I’ll be sharing a more detailed review of my experience using it, but first as usual I’ll share some general information about it.

How to use:
At the last step of skincare, apply a proper amount evenly on the face and other parts that are easily exposed to UV rays.

*As per product packaging.

SPF & PA Rating: SPF50 PA++++

UV Filters: Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinal A Plus), Ethylhexyl Triazone (Uvinal T 150), Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol (Tinosorb M), Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone (Uvisorb HEB).

Quantity & Packaging: 50g in a long, thin white squeeze tube with blue writing and a pale blue see-through cap. I actually like the shape and smoothness of the packaging, it is quite sleek and slim and doesn’t take up a lot of space in my bag either.

Scent:  Fresh floral lavender scent. It’s not too overpowering but I personally don’t like lavender.

Appearance & Whitecast: A white cream that blends into the skin with no white cast on my light-medium skin tone.

Texture & Finish: A lightweight, hydrating and moisturising essence-like lotion that blends into the skin seamlessly and leaves a semi-dewy finish.

My Experience

The Innisfree Hyaluron Moist Sunscreen has a beautiful lightweight essence/ lotion-like texture that hydrates and moisturises my skin well without a sticky or greasy residue and leaves a semi-dewy finish on the skin which gives a healthy appearance. It’s quite similar in feel to other popular Korean sunscreens such as BOJ, Roundlab, Isntree, and d’Alba, but it does have a touch more milky creaminess to it upon application.

When applying it, it first has quite a milky appearance on my skin tone but then blends in seamlessly to no white cast at all.

Apart from sun protection, the Innisfree Hyaluron Moist sunscreen also has a host of other beneficial skincare ingredients for brightening, hydrating, soothing and strengthening the skin. These key ingredients include Niacinamide, Panthenol, Adenosine, Madecassoside, Allantoin, 8 types of Hyaluronic Acid, Tocopherol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Propolis Extract, and Houttuynia Cordata Extract.

By this description I’m giving you’d think I love this Innisfree sunscreen as much as the others I just mentioned, however despite the lovely texture there’s one thing that kills the experience of using it for me, and that is the lavender scent. I’ve mentioned many times on my blog that I don’t like a high amount of lavender in skincare as it smells too strong and sometimes causes my skin to itch, and that’s exactly what I experience whenever I use this sunscreen.

I got my mum to try the sunscreen and she actually adores it, not only for how it feels on her skin but also for the fresh floral lavender scent. To her, the scent is not strong at all and she says it’s quite light, fresh and calming.

If you have a combination or dry skin type and you like the natural smell of lavender and want a sunscreen that will protect your skin while keeping it hydrated, then you might want to give the Innisfree Hyaluron Moist Sunscreen a try. Also, people with an oily skin type who still prefer some dew over a matte finish might like this too, however for those who prefer a matte or skin-like finish this is not for you.

I personally prefer other Korean sunscreens and would recommend them over this one purely because of the scent, so if you’re interested in reading about the ones I’ve already reviewed you can click on the following links to read more: Review | Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++, Review | Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ PA++++ and stay tuned for reviews on my other favourites coming soon too.
