Review | Biossance Squalane + Hyaluronic Toning Mist

I got the Biossance Squalane + Hyaluronic Toning Mist as a free gift with a qualifying purchase a year ago and I use it occasionally as a quick refresher. I don’t always use all the samples I get just in case they aren’t suitable for my skin but this mist sounded like it would be quite nice especially as I’m a sucker for squalane products.

In this post, I’ll share my review of the Biossance Squalane + Hyaluronic Toning Mist, first with some general information about it and then about my personal experience using it.

Description

Made with two types of hyaluronic acids, our weightless toning mist restores hydration inside and out for complete, skin-plumping moisture protection. Our luxurious squalane and mineral-rich formula locks in moisture for all-day radiance. This hyaluronic acid spray is perfect for toning, setting makeup and refreshing skin throughout the day. Hydrates with two types of hyaluronic acid. Plumps fine lines. Sets & revives makeup. Alcohol-free formula.

How to use:
Shake before using this hyaluronic acid spray. Close eyes and hold 6 to 8 inches from face while slowly pressing 2-3 pumps onto skin to fully experience the luxurious fine mist. TIPS: Use over or under moisturizers to boost hydration. Use over makeup to set and give a healthy-looking, dewy finish. Use anytime throughout the day to refresh skin and revive makeup. Use to cool complexion after exercise and stressful events.

Biossance Squalane + Hyaluronic Toning Mist

My Experience

The Biossance Squalane + Hyaluronic Toning Mist has one of the finest sprays I have ever used, I mean it’s so fine that it almost feels like nothing is even falling onto my skin. Having such a fine mist can be seen as both a positive or a negative depending on what you plan to use this mist for.

For hydrating and toning purposes, people with oily skin will appreciate how lightweight it is, however, for a hyaluronic acid and squalane-based product it’s oddly not hydrating or nourishing enough for dry skin. Anyone with dry skin would have to spray the mist multiple times in order to get some hydration on the skin which can make the product finish quickly.

On the other hand, if you’re using it to refresh your makeup and give your skin a bit of dewiness, the extra fine mist helps to not disrupt or melt away your makeup and just gives a subtle glow and tones down any dry or cakey areas. Just bear in mind it doesn’t actually set your makeup in place as the description claims.

I was expecting a lot more nourishment and juiciness from this mist, but it fell quite short there. On top of that, the spa-like essential oil scent is not for me but most mists have a very similar fragrance so I wasn’t surprised by it. Many people actually find the essential oil fragrance quite relaxing and pampering, so it might be fine for you.

I’d recommend the Biossance Squalane + Hyaluronic Toning Mist to anyone with oily or combination skin looking for a very lightweight, quick-absorbing fine mist to spray throughout the day as a refresher and quick pick me up.
