Review | Sioris You Look So Young Night Cream

In today’s post, I’ll be sharing my review of the Sioris You Look So Young Night Cream that I received in the Day 7 Box of the Beauty & Seoul 2020 Advent Calendar.

About The Product

This intensely hydrating cream is infused with 64% organic fruit water (green plum or yuja depending on the season) which provide nutrients and minerals to the skin. This absorbent night cream contains 5% Tamanu Oil and antioxidant-rich Macadamia Nut Oil to help soothe, brighten and hydrate skin. Green Tea Extract and Centella Asiatica work to help calm and soothe irritated skin – all whist you sleep! The result? Soft, revitalized and brighter skin. Best suited for dry skin types. Tamanu oil has a deep and distinct scent that is slightly nutty and medicinal. This scent may be strong at first, but will fade. Sioris never uses any artificial fragrances in their products so this scent is all natural. Use within 6 months of opening.

How to use: Take a small amount and massage onto face and neck. Gently tap and press until cream is fully absorbed. Use as the final step in your evening routine.

Quantity & Packaging: I have a 15ml deluxe sample size that comes in a greige colour squeeze tube, but the full size is 50ml and comes in a tall pump bottle.

Appearance & Texture: A white cream that has a medium to thick consistency a slight pasty feel while applying but with a matte finish.

Scent: Smells like Tamanu Oil which is one of the ingredients. I don’t particularly like the scent as to me it smells a bit like a musky haystack in a barn or damp old books.

My Experience

I had high hopes for this one as I wanted to reap the benefits of Tamanu Oil, but honestly, I just couldn’t get past the funky smell and lack of hydration whenever I used this, so I didn’t use it long enough on my face to see any real benefits. Also, I didn’t like how my skin would always start off semi-matte when applying it and then finish off with a rubbery complete matte feeling that didn’t feel natural.

The cream was almost like a momentary dash of moisture to the top layer of my skin but it did absolutely nothing for deeper hydration leaving me feeling uncomfortable and parched. It didn’t even feel nourishing which is odd considering most creams containing shea butter, oils and tocopherol do feel adequately nourishing. My face would feel quite taught and dry but by the end of the day, my T-Zone would look a bit oily, indicating that my sebaceous glands were working in overdrive, which doesn’t usually happen when I use a more balanced cream with equally hydrating and nourishing properties.

If you don’t have dehydrated skin and can tolerate the smell of Tamanu Oil, then you might not mind using this. As for me, I ended up using the rest on my legs and feet just to finish it quickly.
