Review | Rovectin Cica Care Clearing Ampoule [AD]

In today’s post I will be sharing my review of the newly launched Rovectin Cica Care Clearing Ampoule that was kindly gifted to me by Wishtrend in exchange for an honest review. I’ll first share some general information about the cream and then talk about how it was for my skin.

Rovectin Cica Ampoule

Description

This is an unscented cica ampoule that soothes irritated and sensitized skin with highly concentrated Centella Asiatica and Calamine. This ampoule is the solution for trouble and sensitive skin. Formulated with 73% high concentrated cica, it gently calms sensitized skin. It also contains calamine, known as a ‘magical pink powder’, which eases irritation caused by bumps, breakouts, and hormones with anti-inflammatory benefits. Also it contains Patented Madecassoside to improve uneven skin tone and inflammatory pigmentation. This ampoule has lightweight texture and comes in a light pink color which is natural due to ingredients. Recommended especially for 20s – 30s, who are in need of a calming ampoule to treat skin blemishes and care for inflammatory pigmentation.

Rovectin Cica Ampoule

Scent

There is no artificial fragrance.

Appearance & Texture

A pink coloured gel type ampoule that absorbs quickly. There isn’t any artificial colouring; the packaging makes it look pink however the ampoule itself is clear. If you detect a slight pink tinge that would be naturally from the ingredient Calamine, however it looks completely clear to my eyes.

My Experience

The Rovectin Cica Care Clearing Ampoule took me a little by surprise as I was expecting the liquid to be a lot runnier than it actually is. It’s much more of a thin gel, but still thick enough to cause me some issues with getting the product out through the pipette dropper. I have to angle it in different directions and squeeze it multiple times before it finally sucks up some of the ampoule for me to then squeeze out and use. Personally I would prefer this consistency to be in a squeeze tube with a thin nozzle instead of a dropper as it will be easier to access and use the product.

Although the initial consistency is thicker than expected, it’s still thin enough to melt down and give the skin a burst of hydration, feeling comfortable and absorbing quickly without a sticky residue. That being said, I do have to make sure not to apply too much as it can then feel a little tacky until it fully absorbs.

It does also feel soothing on the skin thanks to the star ingredients cica and calamine, but not as much as I expected it to be, however that could also be because the UK heatwave has warmed up all my products so keeping it cool in the fridge could help me get an enhanced soothing effect in this hot weather. I also noticed my pimples start to heal and redness/ inflammation around the pimples reduce while using this too, but I haven’t noticed a difference to my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation yet so I can’t comment on that claim, however mine tend to be quite dark in contrast with the rest of my skin so I would require something stronger in conjunction with this to help with that anyway.

All in all if you’re looking for a soothing and hydrating gel type ampoule, this is pretty decent and I recommend you to try it. Definitely pair it with the Rovectin Cica Care Balm which I love to use as a soothing moisturiser.
