Review | Purito Centella Unscented Mini Kit

In today’s post, I will be sharing my thoughts on the Purito Centella Unscented Mini Kit that I got in the Day 21 box of the Beauty & Seoul 2021 Advent Calendar.

PURITO Centella Unscented Toner 30ml – An unscented version of Centella Green Level Calming Toner that excludes all essential oils in the formula. 10% Centella Asiatica Extract and Panthenol soothe and relieve irritated skin. Contains Sodium Hyaluronate that attracts moisture and penetrates deep into the skin due to its small molecular structure, nourishing rough skin. Low pH formulation of 5.5

PURITO Centella Unscented Serum 15ml – This serum is an unscented version of the best-selling Centella Green Level Buffet Serum. An essential oil-free serum that offers the best solution for hypersensitive skin. Infused with 49% centella extract, collagen, and niacinamide to soothe and address skin problems. 

PURITO Centella Unscented Recovery Cream 12ml – An unscented, essential-oil-free version of the best-selling Centella Green Level Recovery Cream. A highly-concentrated facial cream infused with 50% Centella Asiatica extract to soothe and strengthen skin barrier while leaving the skin moisturized and supple. Contains Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, and Ceramide, which help strengthen the skin barrier, preventing the evaporation of moisture inside the skin.

How to use: Following cleansing, dispense toner on to the palms of your hands and pat in or use a cotton pad. Take an appropriate amount of serum and apply to the face. Pat in until fully absorbed. Apply an adequate amount of cream to the face and gentle rub in until absorbed. If using in the daytime, please follow up with an SPF.

Quantity & Packaging

PURITO Centella Unscented Toner: The mini kit contains a 30ml sample size in a clear bottle with green writing and black lid, but the full size is 200ml and comes in the same type of packaging but with more information written on the front of the bottle.

PURITO Centella Unscented Serum: The mini kit contains a 15ml sample size in a clear bottle with green writing, black pump and clear cap, but the full size is 60ml and comes in the same type of packaging but with a slightly higher quality black pump than the mini.

PURITO Centella Unscented Recovery Cream: The mini kit contains a 12ml sample size in an opaque white squeeze tube with black and green writing and a white screw-on lid. I like the clean minimal white packaging and it would have been nice if the other two products looked similar. The full size is 50ml and comes in the same type of packaging but a thinner longer tube with more information written on it.

Appearance & Texture

PURITO Centella Unscented Toner: A clear viscous yet lightweight liquid that absorbs quickly.

PURITO Centella Unscented Serum: A slightly cloudy transparent gel that is lightweight but a bit slippery and absorbs well.

PURITO Centella Unscented Recovery Cream: A thick white cream that has a slight balmy yet still creamy quality and melts down to a thinner texture when worked in without a greasy or heavy finish.

All three products are unscented.

My Experience

PURITO Centella Unscented Toner: I adore how juicy and thirst-quenching this toner feels on my skin. It has a viscosity that is a bit thicker and bouncier than water but it is very lightweight, absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling refreshed, hydrated, plump and not sticky. My skin also felt quite soothed and calm whenever I used this toner. The texture reminds me of my holy grail Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner, and I’ll happily add this one to the top-tier list too.

PURITO Centella Unscented Serum: I think I might have liked the serum more had I not already used the toner, because compared to the toner it doesn’t have that refreshing burst of hydration although don’t get me wrong, it is still a hydrating product but has more of a slippy glide and gel thickness whereas I’m more of a splash of runny liquid juicy toner kind of girl. The serum absorbs well but takes a tad longer than the toner. I didn’t find it particularly soothing either but it did give my skin a healthy plumpness.

PURITO Centella Unscented Recovery Cream: This recovery cream helped soothe and strengthen my skin while on a hot holiday in Turkey recently. It feels really nourishing but isn’t heavy or greasy, just comfortable, and tackles dehydration flakes like a boss. Although it was nice, there was something lacking that I can’t quite pinpoint, maybe it’s just that I’ve used other similar functioning creams with a slightly better formulation and texture for my personal preferences.

Overall Thoughts:

This kit was really handy on a recent week-long holiday in Turkey but I wish it also had a mini cleanser in this range which would then be a perfect kit for travel.

Purito had a bit of a rough time last year with the whole sunscreen scandal, but they bounced back and rectified the issues and I’m glad they did as I’ve always wanted to try their products. I purchased their new sunscreens (correct spf) and I’m happy to also have this mini kit especially as the centella unscented line was on my wishlist for a long time. 

That being said, for my personal preference the Centella Unscented Toner stood out as King against the other products in this kit whereas the Serum and Recovery Cream were nice but nothing to write home about. I think the whole kit is suitable for all skin types and is fantastic for hydrating, soothing and strengthening the skin. If I had to rank them in order of what I liked most to least then the toner would be at the top, followed by the recovery cream and then the serum last, and that’s just based on texture.

If you like all three of the products then it’s a great mini kit for travel, and if you haven’t tried any of these three products before then this mini kit gives a good opportunity to test the products out before committing to full sizes.
