Review | Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++

I’ve finally gotten around to posting my full review of the oh so popular Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++. It took me a while because I have a lot of sunscreens I’ve been rotating through in my collection, but now that I’ve had a chance to use the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel in all seasons, I’m ready to share my thoughts.

I briefly mentioned this sunscreen in a recent sunscreen collection post and today I’ll be sharing a more detailed review of my experience using it, but first as usual I’ll share some general information about it.

Scent: No scent.

Appearance & Whitecast: A white cream that blends into the skin with no white cast on my light-medium skin tone.

My Experience

The Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel has been a game changer for so many people over the past couple of years and while I have already tried other great formulas before I do see the appeal in this one, especially for my combination skin in the summer months.

It’s so lightweight with a slight burst of water undertone as you work the cream into the skin which feels refreshing. It starts off looking quite dewy upon initial application but as you work it in, it quickly absorbs and sets dry to a skin-like natural finish.

In the hot summer months when my skin leans on the oily side, I can skip my daytime moisturiser and go straight in with the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel as it’s pretty hydrating and not at all heavy even after applying several layers. It’s also pretty easy to layer as the thin consistency spreads easily across the face and absorbs fast so you can apply enough product for adequate sun protection while feeling comfortable.

In the cold winter months when my skin leans on the dry and flaky side, the finish is not deeply nourishing enough so I need to apply my regular moisturiser underneath first and then layer on the sun protection using the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel.

A few other plus points are that it doesn’t leave a white cast, is fragrance-free, lightweight without the need for alcohol as a solvent, and doesn’t cause me any irritation, stinging eyes, clogged pores or breakouts. It also wears well under makeup, doesn’t cause pilling and can be easily reapplied without disturbing your makeup if you pat it on with a cushion puff.

The Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel can be enjoyed by all skin types, however, I would recommend it mainly to those with oily or combination skin as a dry skin type might need something a touch thicker. Still, if you have dry skin and like the sound of this sunscreen, all you need to do is apply your favourite moisturiser under it and you’re good to go.
