Review | IUNIK Noni Light Oil Serum

I’ve had the IUNIK Noni Light Oil Serum in my skincare collection since 2021 when I got it in the Day 9 box of the Beauty & Seoul 2021 Advent Calendar. As I have so many products in my collection and I’m not much of a serum person, I didn’t get around to opening it until last year, and the only reason I started incorporating it in my routine is because I realised it will expire in 2024. I’m now halfway through the bottle, on track to finish it in time, and ready to share my review.

I’ll first share some general information about the IUNIK Noni Light Oil Serum and then write about my experience using it.

Description

iUNIK’s Noni Light Oil Serum is an anti-ageing serum that deeply moisturises the skin revealing a dewy, youthful look. Formulated with 42% Noni Fruit Extract (a fruit from Southeast Asia), this serum helps to restore elasticity and vigour to your skin. A lightweight oil complex containing jojoba, macadamia and rosehip provides the skin with long-lasting hydration.

How to use:
After cleansing and toning, add a few drops to your face and massage evenly with your fingertips. Pat your skin gently until completely absorbed.

My Experience

I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed using the IUNIK Noni Light Oil Serum. Having the words “light oil” in the name had me thinking it would be a nourishing oil texture that is lightweight but still how you’d expect a typical oil to feel, you know how there’s usually always that initial slight greasiness no matter how light an oil is. However, the IUNIK Noni Light Oil Serum is not much of an oil at all, but rather a milky/cloudy emulsion-esque serum with just a hint of oil in it, which makes it effortlessly spread over the skin, providing a refreshing feel with lots of hydration, and absorbs fast without leaving an annoying residue behind.

My combination skin leans oily in hot weather and dry in cold weather and I found the IUNIK Noni Light Oil Serum to work perfectly in all conditions as it’s light enough not to clog my pores or cause breakouts and nourishing enough to tackle dehydration and dry flakes, leaving me with healthy, plump and hydrated looking skin. As it’s a lightweight serum, I do still need to lock in all the hydrating goodness it gives with a moisturising cream and find that it layers well with any product I apply after it.

If you have combination skin and want to add a nice balanced serum to your routine for nourishing your skin without feeling heavy then you might like to try the IUNIK Noni Light Oil Serum. For those with very dry skin, this serum can be layered to give deeper moisture and also mixed in with a cream of your choice for an extra boost. If you have very oily skin, although it’s a very lightweight formula, the oil content might not agree with your skin but it is always best to test it out for yourself just in case you end up liking it too. IUNIK have minis of all their serums so you can try them all and see which one you like; so far I’ve tried this noni oil one and the propolis one and I liked them both for different reasons so it has me intrigued about what else the brand has to offer.
