In today’s post, I will be sharing my experience of using the AXIS-Y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask, that was gifted to me by AXIS-Y in exchange for an honest review.
Before I write about my experience with this gel mask, I’ll first explain a bit about the brand’s concept and their current skincare line.
AXIS-Y is a climate inspired skincare company with products that take into account how our skin is directly affected by our environment, the climate, temperature, humidity and other external stressors, and how we should care for it accordingly.
AXIS-Y have created their 6+1+1 Advanced Formula skincare line (611), for people with oily, acne-prone skin living in humid climates. Each product in the line is carefully formulated with 6 natural ingredients + 1 core functional ingredient + 1 special patented skincare technology, which work together to address a particular skin concern.
Although I’m not currently living in a humid climate, this line is still well suited for my combination acne-prone skin.

Quantity & Packaging
100ml in a green plastic jar with a white screw-on lid. When you unscrew the lid there’s a thin white plastic cover over the mask with a small spatula resting on it. The spatula is too small for applying the mask but it’s fine for taking out as much as you need and then using fingers to apply it.
Scent
I definitely get wafts of lavender and rosemary scent from this which would be due to the essential oil content. I would prefer it if it didn’t have a fragrance.
Appearance & Texture
A clear yellow-green tinged gloopy gel with small brown specks of heartleaf.
My Experience
I’ve been using this gel mask once a week for the past month and I’ve been enjoying the instant initial hit of cooling sensation this mask gives, making me feel awake and refreshed. It would definitely be a great feeling in the summer months.
I like that the mask applies quite thin and smooth over the face and when washing it off the specks of heartleaf particles aren’t rough, in fact, I can’t really feel them at all. The gel also washes off very easily with water and I don’t need to use a washcloth or go over multiple times to remove it.
Once washed off, I find this gel mask to be pretty decent in brightening and hydrating my skin and it makes my skin feel quite soft and smooth too.
However I do have one problem with this mask while it is on; it’s supposed to be soothing and bring intensive relief to the skin however I find that feeling is very short-lived as my skin ends up reacting to the fragrant essential oils, causing tingling, itching, slight heat and redness. I end up having to take it off after a minute or two.
It’s quite sad that I experience some sensitivity to this product as it performs really well otherwise. I don’t want to waste it so I’ll use it on occasion as a 30-second flash mask for an instant cooling effect, probably on my body rather than face as the skin on my body is more resilient.
If you know you are allergic or sensitive to essential oils then I would say to avoid this one. However, if you have no problem with essential oils or any other ingredient in the list then, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this mask and actually reap its soothing properties. I do recommend to still patch test before applying it all over though.
Also if you have combination skin and are not sensitive to any of the ingredients this would be a great multi-masking product to use along with the Review | AXIS-Y Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash Off Pack [Gifted], where you apply the Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash Off Pack only on the oilier/ clogged areas of your face such as the T-Zone and apply the New Skin Resolution Gel Mask to the rest of the face.
