A pale amber coloured ampoule with a mediumweight slightly syrupy yet thin and slippery texture that absorbs well into the skin leaving behind a silky smooth finish.

My Experience

My opinion of the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule kept changing throughout the past 2 and half months depending on the weather and what other products I used alongside it. Sometimes I loved it and sometimes I found it to be too much for me, but now that I know and stick to my preferred method of use, I have decided that I do like it.

The texture is unique in that it feels elegant and lightweight to apply but then it also has a rich almost sticky but nourishing depth to it. The slight stickiness subsides once it’s fully absorbed and that’s fairly quickly so long as an appropriate amount is used. I usually apply no more than 3-4 drops as the stickiness can be more apparent if you apply too much; a whole pipette dropper full was definitely way too much for me. 3-4 drops for my whole face is the perfect amount, any less feels like not enough unless I’m just spot treating my blemishes.

I also prefer to glide this ampoule over my face, gently massaging it in rather than patting it into my skin as I found that patting it in can sometimes create stickiness.

In hot weather even a small amount of this ampoule makes me feel a bit clammy but it feels completely fine in the current colder autumn/ winter season.

What products I use before this ampoule also makes a difference in how it feels on my skin. Initially I wanted to use it as part of a whole set with the By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence first, then apply the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule, and finish off with the By Wishtrend Pro-Biome Balance Cream, but I found that layering the essence and ampoule together felt heavier on my skin than using them separately.

I do still like the essence from this line and have written a dedicated review about it in my previous post, but I prefer using the products separately; By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence in my morning routine, and By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule at night.

Either going straight in with the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule after cleansing or applying a very lightweight water-like toner before the ampoule, then finishing with the By Wishtrend Pro-Biome Balance Cream feels better on my skin.

In terms of effects, I find that the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule works wonders for nourishing my combination dehydrated skin, as well as for calming and healing my breakouts/ preventing more from forming. It also instantly gives my skin a healthy, plump youthful glow, and my skin always feels so soft and supple the next morning after using it.

My skin really loves propolis, and I’d say this ampoule is pretty on par with other propolis products I’ve liked, but I also like that it has the added benefits of houttuynia cordata, and seeing as there is 59% of houttuynia cordata extract in this ampoule it most likely is the star of the show, with the 15% of propolis extract being the supporting act.
